More Mighty B storyboards

Here's some panels from a storyboard I did for Mighty B, called "Awww-esome", which was the 3rd out of 4 storyboards I did. This was a really fun episode to board, because it had a lot of scenes with Bessie getting really frustrated and behaving strangely, and I love that sort of thing.

Basically Bessie is trying desperately to catch a glimpse of newborn puppies on the website "Puppynet" (just like puppy cam! Look it up if you don't know what it is!), but she keeps missing them and gets more and more irritated. Meanwhile her puppy obsession deeply offends her dog Happy, and ultimately leads to a scary ending. Actually, I haven't seen the episode yet, so they may have changed some stuff from the storyboard. By accident I changed an important part of the ending, making it a lot less child-friendly, but no one said anything at the time! I wonder if they kept it? Here are Bessie's fellow honeybee scouts reacting to the puppies:

Eddie Trigueros did the beat boards for this episode, and his cool and cartoony style was a huge help and inspiration when I was drawing!

I should probably add that these are just bits and pieces from the story- it's probably not gonna make a whole lot of sense looking at these. I just chose the ones with drawings I liked! You'll have to watch the episode to see what's actually going on! :)

The gag above is that Bessie can't manage to get to the hot dog vendor because people keep butting ahead of her in line. I couldn't for the life of me manage to come up with a smart way to stage it so that what was happening would be clear, so Eddie helped me come up with this totally silly solution of having them just drop randomly out of the sky.

Really weird incidental cop guys. I hope the designers on the show made these cooler! :D

I love drawing extreme frustration! Below is how I look when I'm mad.

Bessie is now determined to see the puppies on the screen, but every time they appear she somehow misses them.

The rest of this post is stuff from the ending of the episode, so if you plan on watching it and want to be surprised, better quit now!

Bessie watches in helpless horror as bad things are about to happen to cute things.

I like the description for the above panel

Hooray! Happy ending! I'm glad I got assigned this story because I got to draw lots of puppies. If you liked these, I posted some more storyboards from my first episode here.

That's all for now! If anyone's seen this episode, please let me know how it turned out. I hope to post new drawings soon. Thanks for looking!

So cool

Hey, check out this commission I just got from
Shawn Dickinson!

I love this guy's drawings, and since he is one of the best when it comes to funny cats, I had to get one of Luna and Babycat. This thing is huge in real life, too! Shawn draws all sorts of cool stuff, and he's taking commissions right now, so take a look at his blog!

This awesome Skadi drawing came unexpectedly with my comission, too! :D

Also, Andy Ristaino nominated me for a Kreativ Blogger Award! Thank you Andy!

YOU'VE WON THE KREATIV BLOGGER AWARD!
That means somebody on the interwebs likes what you're doing! Keep it up!
IF there is someone who has been blogging and you want to give them an award for doing so, please do! (not limited to blogger accounts)
IF you don't want to do anything of the sort, then don't!
IF you want to you can use the image in the blog post as the "award" or you can design your own.
I guess tell them you gave them an award if you did.
PLEASE edit the parameters as you see fit.

Here are the "rules" for the Kreativ Blogger Award:

1. You must thank the person who has given you the award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link the person who has nominated you for the award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting. (I skipped this one)
5. Nominate 7 other Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on which of the blogs to let them know they have been nominated.

Like Andy said, it's a bit of a chain-letter type thing, but since it's a nice way to tell people you like their blogs and get links passed around, I say it's a-ok! There are tons of amazing blogs that I check all the time, so it was hard to only choose 7, but here they are:

Rebecca Dart- She draws everything I love...kitties, barbarians, illustrations for scary country songs...and she's truly amazing at it.

Pedro Vargas- One of my all time favorite blogs! I love everything this guy draws. And he animates too!

Kristen McCabe- So good...Kristen is super creative and funny, and her drawings are beautiful and always interesting.

Miss Withers
- She's doing these crazy fashion-y paper cut out dolls right now that I love...and her paintings are really cool and haunting!

Brie Hermanson
- This girl is talented and funny and weird and awesome. I'm excited every time she updates!

Kristy Gordon
- Kristy's paintings are breathtaking and beautiful and really stick in your head for a long time and make you keep thinking about them. O__O

Seo Kim
- Seo has a lovely style that's really unique. She can draw amazingly well, and also has an eye for beautiful color and design.

Wow, I nominated almost all girls! Sorry guys!

I'll probably be putting up some Mighty B stuff soon, unless I somehow manage to do some new art. I've been stuck in another terrible rut, and the only things I've drawn are for projects or work that I'm not allowed to show. Thanks everyone who left me feedback on my last post! I think I'll post some more close up drawings from Skadi again at a later time! :D

Skadi side character close-ups

*** ONE LAST EDIT***

I added 2 more panels at the bottom by request, one of Skadi's sisters, and another demon girls cluster. :)

A few people expressed an interest in the side characters in
today's Skadi comic, so I thought I'd post some higher quality images so you can see them better. The backgrounds aren't included because Luke does them on his computer- we work separately on our different parts.

***EDIT***
Out of curiosity, which of the 3 girls is the cutest design? I'm betting my favorite is the one no one else likes. :)

These girls aren't based on anyone in particular, just made-up designs.

Sometimes when I'm drawing the characters for the Skadi comic, I put way too much detail into the drawings, even though they will be tiny on the screen. It's kind of bad, because it looks icky on the computer, but if Luke and I ever print these, it'll hopefully look real nice. I should probably simplify when I can, but I really like doing side characters, so it's hard not to put some love into the drawings.

Goddess girls from "Theology 2"

This succubus girl/girls got a pretty good response from Skadi readers, so here are some bigger images.

These are all from the "Skadi Goes to Hell" series, 1-6

There are a bunch of extra inbred guys for the "Skadi and the Hill People" series we did- they were really fun to draw!

extra retarded!

Two peasant girls based off of my friends Christine and Sibylle, from "
Knobinski".

Lastly here are some close ups of the Amazon girls from "The Red Menace" story. I really liked drawing these girls a lot, so I want to come up with an excuse to bring them back into the comic!

Skadi's older sisters...

...and one more demon girl drawing.

That's all for now! If you liked these, check out the actual comic sometime, as these are just blown up tiny drawings.

OH also, I was going to do a post sometime with more storyboard drawings from the Mighty B, but I've heard people say that work related posts aren't as interesting. I'm happy with them though. What do you guys think?
